Anne Chatfield Coghlan passed away October 4, 2025 after a long struggle with heart issues at 85 years old. Anne is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gerald “Skip” Coghlan; her daughters, Joanna (Bryan) Menning and Cassandra (John) Samz; her grandchildren, Rachel (Tyson) Wolfe, Lauren, Meghan, Mark and Jake; and her great-grandson, Jack; other relatives and friends. As a young girl Anne was in a military family living in occupied Japan at the conclusion of WWII. Anne attended boarding school in Switzerland. Anne graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and teaching. She taught HeadStart in Oxnard, CA in the 1960’s. Anne then focused on raising her daughters in Oregon, Alaska, Wisconsin and Virginia. She was a preschool teacher for many years before retirement. Anne enjoyed her horses and German Shepherd dogs. She was a very smart woman who gave everything she had, especially to her family. Anne will be lovingly missed by all who knew her. Per Anne’s request, no formal funeral services are to be held.
