Application deadline for Alaska nonprofit organizations to apply for the Walmart Foundation's Alaska State Giving Program is March 2. Interested 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations may apply online at walmartfoundation.org.
The minimum award for each grant is $25,000.
Walmart Foundation is focused on funding much-needed community programs, especially those that address hunger, homelessness, education, job training and other basic needs.
In 2011, the Alaska State Giving Program awarded $345,000 in grants to 12 Alaska nonprofits.
