August 07, 1938 - December 03, 2025 Arthur M. “Marty” Quaas: Passed away this month in Palmer, Alaska. He and his late wife, Agnes, moved from California to Alaska in 1993 and built a homestead and became part of the community. Marty worked as a senior meteorologist for Rockwell for 33 years before retiring to Alaska. Marty was passionate about model railroading, serving as the ‘CEO’ of the Consolidated South Western Model Railroad for over 30 years. People would see he and Agnes with the ‘Mooselip’ layout frequently at the Palmer Railroad Depot and model railroad conventions. https://alaskamodelrrnews.com/.
