WASILLA — The Alaska State Troopers conducted a multi-jurisdictional operation on July 29 and July 30 focused on property and drug related crimes occurring around retail stores. The Mat-Su Drug Unit, Criminal Suppression Unit, Airport Interdiction Task Force, Helo 3, AKCIC and Wasilla Police Department conducted 24 contacts with assistance and cooperation from retail store operators.
During the operation, Law Enforcement made 24 contacts resulting in four seized firearms. Authorities seized 44 grams of methamphetamine, one gram of cocaine material, several hundred rounds of ammunition and $845 in cash.
“All guns and money seized were being used in furtherance of illegal drug trafficking activities,” AST wrote.
The operation resulted in seven misdemeanor arrest warrants and recovered approximately $310 in stolen merchandise.
