77, of Wasilla, Alaska, passed away peacefully at her home on September 4, 2018.

The Dinkel family came to Alaska in 1937, as part of the Matanuska Colony Project. Audrey was one of the first babies born in the new Palmer Hospital on August 27, 1941, to Harold and Frances Dinkel and she was cherished by her five brothers and sisters. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1959.

Audrey married Donald Boyce and lived in several places as an Army wife and mother prior to their divorce. Audrey worked for Loomis and IBM. After leaving Loomis she was hired by IBM as a Customer Engineer; the first woman to have that position at the Anchorage office. In the 1990’s she retired from IBM.

Audrey will always be remembered for her love of her family members and she was generous with her time and that love. She was truly a farmer’s daughter as she enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, cooking and 4H.

She had a great love for French Bull Dogs and raised and nurtured them. Her favorite French Bull dog was the patriarch, Smokin’ Joe.

Audrey is survived by her son Michael Boyce, grandchildren, Robert, Krystal, Kassidy, Katelyn and Kyler and three great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Kvernplassen (Arnfinn), brother, Gene Dinkel (Allayne), sister-in-law, Bonnie Dinkel and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Frances Dinkel, son, Steven Boyce, brothers, Donald Dinkel and Francis “Lad” Dinkel, and sister, Flo Tryck.

The family suggests donations be made to the animal charity of your choice as Audrey had a deep love for animals.

A Celebration of Life will be held next May.
