Audrey Hippensteel Troutman, 83, died Nov. 11, 2007, at her home in Wasilla.
Troutman was born March 15, 1924, in Nescopeck, Pa., and graduated from Nescopeck High School in 1941. She worked for American Car and Foundry during World War II in Berwick, Pa., building armored vehicles before coming to Alaska in 1959
She retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as a contract administrator, was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and enjoyed her family, gardens and greenhouse.
Troutman always gave love and sound advice and she did it her way.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Mark (Beverly) Troutman of Palmer and David (Vicki) Troutman of Crossville, Tenn., and Robert (Linda) Troutman of Anchorage; granddaughters, Jenny Loughmiller of The Dalles, Ore., Katy Troutman of Portland, Ore., and Erin Troutman of Palmer; grandsons, Kris Troutman of Palmer and Jason Troutman of Anchorage; and great-grandchildren Grant and Anna Loughmiller of The Dalles.
Troutman was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; parents, Myles and Eva Hippensteel; two brothers and one sister.
Her ashes will be placed at a later date. Valley Funeral Homes and Crematory of Wasilla and Palmer assisted the family.
