Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Austin Hunter Edenfield, 15, passed away near his home on Pittman Road in Wasilla, Alaska on February 8, 2016.
A public visitation will be held at Janssen's Mat-Su Funeral Home, 6901 E. Blue Lupine Drive in Palmer on Saturday, February 13 at 10 a.m. with a service to follow at noon. Pastor Jay Dagenhart will be officiating. A reception will take place after the service. Pallbearers include Will Johns, Chris Brueggeman Kurisu, Junior Munholland, Darrel Bush, Justin Toler, Lance Colburn, Benjamin Blocke and DJ. Austin will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in the spring of 2016.
Austin was born in Colquitt, Georgia on March 10, 2000. He was a 10th grade student at Burchell High School in Wasilla. He loved bodybuilding and computers. He planned to attend Alaska Middle College next year, graduate and pursue an engineering degree studying abroad in Germany.
His family wrote, “Austin was a superman in life and in death.”
Survivors include his mother Kimberly Blocker; father Stanley J. Edenfield; step-father Ed Blocker; brother Christopher “Lance” Colburn; sister Macy Colburn; brother Stanley Edenfield; step-sisters Sharelle Eakins and Valerie Blocker; step-brother Benjamin Blocker; maternal grandmother Gwen Carver; maternal grandfather Billy Carver; paternal grandfather Dexter Edenfield; maternal aunts Diane Maxwell and Christina Watson; maternal uncle Travis Carver; paternal aunt Debbie Jordan; paternal uncles Paul, Vince and Tony Edenfield; and various cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Dale Edenfield.
Arrangements are with Janssen’s Mat-Su Funeral Home.
