Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Funeral services for Wasilla resident, Barbara Ann Grisham, 52, are at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Palmer with the Rev. Daniel Lee Grisham and Dr. Bruce Rowell officiating. A visitation at the church begins at 1 p.m. Burial follows at Aurora Cemetery in Wasilla. Pallbearers will be the Rev. Daniel Grisham, Adam Grisham, Josh Grisham, Ben Lee, Zane Lee and David Muth.
Barbara died Oct. 14, 2010, at her Wasilla residence after a lengthy fight with cancer. She was born on Sept. 6, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio and came to Alaska in 1992. She attended Lamer University of Texas and University of Knoxville Tennessee. She was the administrative assistant and pianist for “On Eagles Wings” Ministry. She loved crocheting baby blankets and playing piano for church and family and also loved to read.
According to her family, “She was and will always be my ‘Princess.’ She was always supportive, encouraging and patient. She was an ardent Christian. She is deeply loved and will be badly missed, for she was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and she was always her families’ biggest fan.”
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Dan Grisham, daughter, Miriam Grisham and two sons, Joshua and Adam Grisham all of Wasilla; sister, Terry Turner of Washington; aunt, Vi McIver of Arizona, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Kunz and mother Florence Kampfe.
