Palmer resident Mrs. Barbara Jean Gift, 56, died Dec. 30, 2009 at her home in Palmer.
Private family services will be held.
Mrs. Gift was born Jan. 17, 1953 in Port Arthur, Texas. She moved to Kenai in 1968, where she commercial fished. In 1979 she moved to Eagle River, where she resided for 20 years. She then moved to Copper Center and moved to Palmer two months ago. Mrs. Gift was happily married to Robert Gift for 34 years until he passed away in August 2009. She enjoyed collecting Teddy bears, gold panning and watching “All My Children” on television. She also loved her little dog, Coco.
Mrs. Gift was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gift; parents, Harold M. Sr. and Virginia M. Steward; brother, Harold M. Steward Jr.; and half-sister, Jenny M. Ewing.
Mrs. Gift is survived by her brother, Charlie E. Steward of Wasilla; sister, Bonnie J. Steward of Houston; brother, Lloyd W. Steward of Big Lake; and niece, Tina L. Hogan of Wasilla.
Arrangements were by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory.
