Barbara Joyce Schiermbock, age 72, passed on May 25, 2017 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. Barbara will be buried with her husband at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. There will be a potluck/bbq celebration of life on Saturday June 10th at 7pm at 21870 McPherson avenue in Sutton.Barbara was born March 27, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York & was the oldest of six children. On June 10, 1967 Barbara married Dennis Schiermbock & started a family. They moved to Alaska in May of 1977.
Barbara is survived by her son, John Schiermbock (Lisa) of Wasilla, AK, & his son’s Bo & John; daughter, Karen Clary of Wasilla, AK, & her daughters Brooke, Paige, & Kaylee; daughter, Magen Schiermbock of Sutton, AK, & her children Ian, Daniel, Jillian, Zebediah & Payten; son, Keith Greiling of Sutton, AK; sisters, Kathleen Greiling & Patricia Muth (David); brother Thomas Greiling (Karen); and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews.
Her faithful dog, “Kona” is waiting for her to return home. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Schiermbock; sons, Dennis & Peter Schiermbock; parents, Katherine & John Greiling; brothers, Johnny & Bobby Greiling; & son in-law, Dean Clary. She will be greatly missed.
