Benjamin James Sayen, 52, passed away on March 14, 2016, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, in Wasilla, Alaska.

Benjamin was born on Oct. 28, 1963, in Ohio, to Laura and Theodore Sayen. He spent his time living between Alaska and California since 1989.

He had a passion for cars and made a career being an auto body paint and repairman by trade.

Benjamin was a talented woodworker and enjoyed making beautiful art jewelry boxes and furniture. He enjoyed bbq’s and bonfires and spending time with loved ones.

Benjamin was a loving brother to four sisters and four brothers. He was most often referred to as “Uncle Ben” by everyone that knew him. He was a beautiful soul with a relaxed and positive attitude toward life, no matter how tough things could get. He has left an empty space in many hearts and his daily presence and morning coffee visits will be missed. For the many times his sisters heard, “I love you sissy,” we love you, too, brother.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura, and father, Theodore. He is survived by his two sons, Jonathan and Christopher, and their children, along with his four sisters, Jennifer DeFreest, Hannah Miller, Ruth Sayen, and Rachel Sayen, and four brothers, Theodore Sayen Jr., Daniel Sayen, David Sayen, and Matthew Sayen, along with 35 nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
