Long time Wasilla resident Betty Lou Davidson (Betty Boop, One Away Betty), 87 years young passed away on 5/21/22 while residing at the Wickersham House in Wasilla, Alaska.
Mrs. Davidson was born in Bellingham, Washington on 1/19/1935 To Harry Roundtree and Lilly Thomblin, she was widowed on 2/18/1984 when Hollis Raymond Davidson was killed in a car accident on Church Road. She came to Alaska in September of 1968. Made friends with the Schoppee’s and McCarthy’s that lived on the Old Glenn by Goat Creek. Her and Ray worked the dairy farms all over the Valley until the dairies started closing. Then she worked in several restaurants until her accident in Hatchers Pass that severely crippled her. Hollis was a handyman, gas station, mechanic and whatever else it took to put food on the table.
She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Okihara, John Okihara; Daughter, Belinda Bowman; her 4 sisters, Elsie, Arloa, Shirley and Francis. She has 3 grandsons, Niel, Johnny, Nakeeya; 2 great granddaughters, Bee and Adeline.
There will be no services, her wishes are to join her husband on the waters of Aliak Bay.
