Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Betty Sue Morgan, 71, of Wasilla passed away at St. Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage on Nov. 25, 2017. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Lamb of God Lutheran Church on 1221 Church Road, Wasilla. Rev. Eugene Larmi will officiate.
Betty was born on Sept. 17, 1946 in Lilburn, Montana, to James Gilbert Hall and Myrtle L. Hanna. She became an Alaskan resident in 2003. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and 7 siblings, James Hall, J.W. Hall, Lois Morris, Olon Hall Glenn Hall, Virginia Denbow, and Selma Land. Survivors include: her husband Ron Morgan, Wasilla; 2 daughters, Melanie Thompson, Wasilla and Karen Hurtubise, Eldon, Montana; 2 brothers, Willis Hall, New Braunfels, Texas; Roger Hall, Duplo, Illinois; 2 sisters, Veda Amsden, Duplo, Illinois; Elise Brannam, Burleson, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Tabatha, Christina and James Jr. Hurtubise, Eldon Montana; Krina and Gwen Thompson, Wasilla; a step-son, Michael Morgan, Wasilla; and 1 great grandchild, Kendra Atwell, Eldon, Montana.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial be made to the Arthritis Foundation (www.arthritis.org) or the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League at the church in Wasilla. Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla, Alaska cared for the arrangements.
