Bob Ferris Sr., 83, of Palmer, Alaska, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, Oct. 31, 2015, with family by his side. He was born Feb. 10, 1932, in Danbury, Connecticut, and lived most of his life in Chandler, Arizona, where he was stationed in the Air Force and then was employed by the federal government as an aircraft mechanic for the U.S. Air Force for 36 years until he retired in April 1955. He moved to Palmer, Alaska, in 1998 to be near his family. He loved hunting with his son and grandson, fishing with his wife and grandchildren, and camping and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen; his daughter Sharon and son-in-law John; his son Bob and daughter-in-law Linda; grandchildren, Chris (Meagan); Amber (John), Ashley, Jordan and Chase; and great-grandchildren, Trystan, Bellamy and Avery (due any day).
