Boguslaw (Bo) Wierzbicki

Boguslaw (Bo) Wierzbicki, 57, died April 21, 2008 at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage of a sudden cardiac arrest.

Funeral Mass will be at 4 p.m. Friday, April 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Bogard Road. Viewing will begin at 3 p.m. Father Bill Fournier will officiate.

Wierzbicki was born May 4, 1950 in England and was a 1972 graduate of Virginia Military Institute and held a B.S. degree in civil engineering. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1977 and came to Alaska in 1975, settling in Palmer.

He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska district, since 1977 and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. His hobbies and special interests included his family, reading, working out at the gym, history and walking the family dogs Marshall and Bell.

“Bo was an awesome husband and father,” his family wrote. “Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed.”

He is survived by his wife, Pat Wierzbicki of Palmer; daughters Stasia of Anchorage, Helena, Ewa and Anna, all of Palmer; son Jan and wife, Kathryn, of Salt Lake City, Utah; granddaughter Ann Martin of Cortez, Colo.; mother Stanislawa Wierzbicki; sister Heidi Miranda, her husband, Jose, and their daughters Fawna and Michala, all of Trenton, N.J. His father Stanislaw preceded him in death.

The family suggests any memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Valley Funeral Homes & Crematory of Wasilla and Palmer is assisting the family.
