Wasilla resident Bonnie Ann Jennings Van Buskirk, 79, died Aug. 8, 2014, peacefully at home of natural causes.
Bonnie was born June 27, 1935, in Taylor, Nebraska, to Kenneth and Mary Alice (Pasco) Lemon.
Her family will remember her as a woman of great faith who knew without question her Redeemer and who greatly loved and enjoyed her eight children, 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren.
As a cherished friend wrote, “I consider Bonnie a true Saint. For her love was not selective or judgmental. She loved the world, all creatures, great and small, and every kind of person no matter tribe, tongue or belief. Her heart was big enough for everyone and when she was sick, or hurting, she hardly complained and still found time to make special things for people, or just simply make them feel special.”
Bonnie is survived by her husband Marvin of Wasilla; her sons, Jim Jennings Jr. (Mary) of Moses Lake, Washington, Paul Jennings (Wendy) of Delta Junction; Sam Jennings of Spokane, Washington, Jay Jennings (Wanda) of Wasilla, and Ray Jennings (Lori) of Anchorage; daughters, Lianne Schwartz (Steve) of Wasilla, and Mariella Kruger of Palmer; daughter-in-law, Susan Jennings Brooks (Joseph) of Delta Junction; and her new stepdaughters, Marlene Van Buskirk and Kristine Bear, both of Anchorage, and a host of dear family and friends.
Preceding her in death by her husband, Jim Jennings in 2012; and son, Nick Jennings in 1990.
A celebration of life memorial for our beloved matriarch is at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 15 at the Wasilla Senior Center dining hall, 1301 S. Century Circle, Wasilla. Bonnie’s family warmly welcomes you to join us.
