Borough, Palmer ask what you want built

PALMER — The Mat-Su Borough and the city of Palmer are accepting nominations for big construction projects.

According to a letter from borough planner Sara Jansen, the nominations are a yearly process seeking “capital projects over $50,00 that are needed or wanted in the borough.”

The projects are combined into a list that is winnowed down presented to the assembly, state legislators and Alaska’s delegation to U.S. Congress.

A similar process is happening in Palmer.

The city manager and the rest of the administration plans to compile the list there.

Nominations are due by 4:30 p.m., May 11 at the borough and by April 20 at the city. A form for nominating projects is available at the borough’s website at matsugov.us/planning/cip.

The phone number for the borough is 745-4801. Palmer asks residents to head to its website at cityofpalmer.org. The city’s phone number is 745- 3271.
