Wasilla resident Boyce Dylan Reed, 24, died Feb. 26, 2010, in Wasilla.
Graveside services will be held 5 p.m. March 5 at the Wasilla-Aurora Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Lewis, Ken Lewis, Adam Reed, Trustin Marquez, AJ Neils and Roy Kunnuk. A celebration of Boyce’s life will be held at 4 p.m. March 6 at VFW Post 9365, 301 West Lake View Ave., in Wasilla.
Boyce was born 10 minutes after his twin brother, Adam Douglas, on Feb. 17, 1986, in Anchorage to Roy Alan Reed and Pamela D. Fox. He attended Iditarod Elementary for kindergarten, Goose Bay Elementary for grammar school and Wasilla middle and high schools. Throughout Boyce’s life, he lived in Anchorage on and off but called Wasilla his home. Boyce would volunteer to help his family members with everything from roofing to cooking but not cleaning. He most recently worshipped with Church on the Rock in Wasilla with his family members.
From fifth grade through ninth grade, Boyce won the Presidential Fitness Award each year. In his freshman year of high school Boyce broke the bench press record for freshman, sophomore and junior ranks, which was two pounds away from the senior bench press record. Most recently he developed a passion for kickboxing, which he practiced often.
He enjoyed playing video games, building, hanging out with his brother, drawing and watching UFC, but Boyce most loved being with his family members and doing anything or even nothing.
“Boyce loved his friends and family more than anything in the world. He was funny, outgoing and always had a great big heart of gold. He will be dearly missed and loved forever by those of us who knew and loved him,” the family wrote.
He is survived by his mother, Pamela Fox-Parrott of Lincoln City, Ore.; father, Robert Lewis of Big Lake; brother, Adam D. Reed of Big Lake; sister, Jessi Wyman of Fairbanks; sister, Shawnalea Fox-Lewis of Wasilla; grandmother, Sharon Abee of Wasilla and grandfather, Ray Johnson of Chugiak.
