Longtime Palmer resident Brenda Lewis “Sparky” made her journey to heaven October 3, 2015. She was born February 22, 1963, in Renton, Washington. Eventually, a cowboy by the name of Donnie Lewis from Huntsville, Alabama, scooped her off her feet, and they started a life together. They married September 17, 1987, in Alaska and began to start a family.
Brenda was the rock of the family; she was strong, supportive, and the kind person who would give you the shirt off her back. Never giving up was how she lived her life and wanted the family to follow her lead. Not once did she stop fighting, from day one in August 2014, when she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, until she took her last breath Saturday morning.
She enjoyed doing fun activities as a family. The family vacations, weekend ski trips to Alyeska, fishing, camping, and toasty fire sharing stories. It was the simple things in life that meant the most. When it came to sports, she was the kids’ biggest fan. She out-cheered the crowd and outran them to the end zone. Win or lose, you were always the best in her eyes.
Brenda took pride in her many flower gardens; each one mirrored her beauty and dedication. One of her greatest joys was her cats, even the strays that found such a caring person and received her five-star accommodations.
In addition to her husband, Donnie Lewis, she is survived by her three children, Cord, Kaile and Dalton; granddaughter, Ariana McKinley; mother, Joyce Evenhus; brother, Wayne; sister-in-law, Deborah Deonigi, and mother-in-law Patricia Lewis.
We’re thankful now for Dad being the rock in our family. You will always be in our hearts, and we’ll never stop loving and missing you. Till next time.
