Bruce Louis Birdsell, 68, of Palmer, Alaska passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center due to renal failure. Bruce was born August 18, 1949 in Whittier, CA to George and Evelyn (Lamarque) Birdsell. He graduated from Big Bear High School in 1967. On February 24, 1979 he married Cheryl Hull Birdsell. Bruce and his family moved to Alaska in 1993 from Apple Valley, CA. Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories and jokes, collecting artifacts, and loved animals. Longtime friend, Kendall Stone said it best with “I hope he is somewhere where there are lots of quail, chuckers and doves and that he has his 20 gauge 870 with him. That would be heaven to him. Rest in peace Birdy. You will be missed.” Bruce is survived by his wife (separated in 2004), Cheryl Birdsell, two daughters, Devry Birdsell and Alicia Dunham; two grandchildren, Connor and Carson Dunham, and his sister Madeline Erwine. No service is scheduled at this time.
