Cameron L. Burton

A memorial service for Wasilla resident, Cameron L. Burton, 56, is at 11 a.m., Monday at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Wasilla.

Cameron died on Oct. 16, 2010, at home of natural causes. He was born on Aug. 21, 1954, in Germany.

He was a contract commercial painter working on the North Slope. He had won painting awards for his painting of walls. He was a member of Valley Church of Christ in Wasilla. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, biking, walking, golfing, painting, reading and helping people and animals. He also would help his community and was there even if it was just lending an ear.

Cameron is survived by his companion of 15 years, Suzanne Shoup of Wasilla; his mother, Elizabeth B. Burton of Colo.; his sister, Jamie Suitts of Colo.; two nephews, Will and Dustin Suitts of Colo.; three step-daughters, Sabrina and Rosalyn Shoup both of Florida and Patricia Moore of Wasilla; one step-son, John Shoup of Florida.

Arrangements were by Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Wasilla.
