Private family services were conducted for Wasilla resident, Candice J. Sumrall, 59, who died at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center on Oct. 23, 2010, after a lengthy battle with liver diesease. Her cremated remains will be scattered in Maui, Hawaii.

She was born on May 22, 1951, in Dubuque, Iowa. She came to Alaska in 1972. She had worked at All I Saw Cookware, Allen and Peterson and Home Depot. She loved children, dogs, friends, arts and crafts and cooking.

Her family stated, “Candice’s big heart and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. Her family always came first. She was always available for any crisis with her friends. She is so very loved and missed and missed and will never be forgotten.”

Candice is survived by her husband, Scott Sumrall of Wasilla; son, Shelby Sumrall of Wasilla; parents, Mary and Delbert Kuhl of San Diego, Calif.: sister, Mia J. Dispoto of Water Town, Conn.; two brothers, Greg Kuhl of Phoenix, Ariz. and Kim Kuhl of Wasilla; Uncle and Aunt, Jim and Jackie Redfearn of Hazel Green, Wisc.

Arrangements by Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Wasilla.
