Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Carol Ann Stewart, 77, passed away peacefully November 7, 2014 with family by her side.
Services are at 4 p.m., Nov. 13 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1375 E. Bogard Rd, Wasilla.
Following her pioneer spirit, Carol drove the Alaska Highway with her husband and children in 1970. Carol’s giving heart was exemplified by her life long volunteerism in her community. The Homemakers Association, 4H Club, and the Iditarod restart, to name a few. Carol was always willing to share a story, a laugh, or any of her many interests with those around her. She will be missed by many.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Alice Silloway; brothers, Jack, Elmer (Speed); and sisters, Evelyn and Ruth.
Surviving are her sister, Shirley; former husband, Jack Stewart; sons, Robin Ulery (Melinda), Michael Johnson (Lisa), Jack (Jay) Stewart Jr. (Mary); daughters, Linda Bath (Norman), Susan Marsh, Jenette Gray (Cody; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be sent to Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska, First Presbyterian Church Wasilla or a charity of your choice.
