Carolyn Lee Bunnell age 79, passed away Tuesday December 7, 2021 at Mat Su Regional Hospital after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Carol was born January 11, 1942, in Montebello, CA the daughter of Donald and Jewel Fenner. In 1970 she moved to Alaska with her three children seeking the Alaska adventure. She raised her children and worked as a single mom in the hospitality industry. Her family was her dearest treasure, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and then the great grandchildren. Carol was a great cook, always had hot coffee and a sweet treat ready for anyone stopping by. She loved to tole paint with her daughter Barbara and quilt with both Barbara and her daughter Brenda.
Carol is survived by Ray Bunnell, her husband for 35 years; daughter, Barbara Dewan (Jason) and son, Brian Madsen both of Wasilla, Alaska. Two stepdaughters, Michelle McGlasson (Rick) Kenai, AK, Kristy Sessions (Andy) Los Angeles, CA. 12 grandchildren: Brenton, Mathew, Dustin, Breanna, Kory, Klarrissa, Tristin, John, Amber, Jed, Sophia, and Lil Andy. 18 great grandchildren.
Five brothers: Tommy, and Johnny Fenner, of Wasilla, Alaska, Stanley (Linda) Fenner of Anchorage, Alaska. Kirk Fenner (Teresa), Danny Fenner (Pam) both of Rapid City, SD.
She is preceded in death by both her parents, one brother, one son, one daughter and one granddaughter.
There will be a memorial in her honor at Fairview Loop Baptist Church, Wasilla, Alaska on Tuesday 28, 2021 at 2pm.
