Carolyn May McGinnis, 58, died April 11, 2010, in Palo Alto Calif., at Stanford Hospital. She was born Sept. 30, 1951, in Coos Bay, Ore.
Carolyn was a substance abuse counselor and dietitian.
Carolyn was a Wasilla resident from 1992 until her death.
She is survived by her father, Alfred Nelson; daughter, Lena McGinnis-Kilic; and son, Brian McGinnis; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Julie Nelson; and nieces, Erin Sekulic and Sarah Stathos.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today in Adams Chapel in River View Cemetery Funeral Home in Portland, Ore.
