Funeral services for Wasilla resident, Charles "Little Mike" Michael Fairbairn, 58, will be Monday at 3 p.m., at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel (1015 S. Check St.).
Little Mike died Nov. 20 at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer. He was born Jan. 19 in California. He had worked as a carpenter in construction most of his life.
According to his friends and family, "There is not enough paper to describe Little Mike. He was quite the character. He was very free spirited. Since ha had no real family in Alaska he created his own. His good nature and kind heart attracted many people to him. So he had many Alaska brothers and sisters. He touched a lot of people in many ways, and gave of himself fully. He was a blessing to us all. A lot of the time he would put the needs of others before his own. He loved parties and barbecues, which he never missed a one. He liked to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day and drink Powers Irish Whiskey. He was quite the leprechaun. We're sure he is as great an asset in heaven as he was on earth.”
He is survived by a sister, Michele Kenny of Benecia, Calif.
Burial will be at a later date at Aurora Cemetery.
