Cherrie Ruesch died June 27, 2010, at home, surrounded by family.

A celebration of life will be held at 5:30 p.m. July 31 at Raven Hall on the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer.

Mrs. Ruesch was born in Minneapolis, Minn., and moved to Alaska in 1975. She lived in Chugiak for 35 years and was a 1980 graduate of Chugiak High School.

“She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend,” her family wrote. “Cherrie was a extraordinary classy lady, always hardworking, dedicated, caring, genuine and a shining star. She enjoyed family, friends, horseback riding, shooting sports, volunteering and working with the youth of the community. She loved her morning coffee, hot toddies, music, traveling, Alaska and flowers. Her eyes were green and her smile pure. She will be missed.”

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Leonhard; children, Whitney Carr, Chase Ruesch, Sasha Ruesch, Sebastian Ruesch and Champagne Ruesch; grandchild, Morgan Carr; father, Arnie Larson; mother, Joyce Larson; brothers, Kent Larson, Keith Larson and Kirk Larson, and sisters, Celeste Williams, Carla Beu, Charyl Alm and Cammie Hejny.
