It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Cheryl Ortman announce her unexpected passing. A native of Minnesota, Cheryl and Jim moved to Alaska in the early 80’s. While they did not have family in Alaska they were surrounded by good friends that became their “family”. Cheryl and Jim finally got around to getting married on February 28th, 1988 after many years together. They loved spending their time together on their Harley. They were truly everything to each other. They were soulmates who were blessed to have had so many good years together. Jim passed away on October 17th, 2016. On Sunday August 12th, 2018 Cheryl joined Jim on the highway in the sky behind him on the bike. Cheryl is survived by family in the lower 48 and many friends in the Valley. A celebration of life for Cheryl and Jim will be held at 2:00 on Saturday September 1st at the Fishhook Bar.
