Chmielewski, Wood claim Palmer council seats

PALMER — Michael Chmielewski claimed one of two seats available on the Palmer City Council in today’s election, earning 30.7 percent of the vote.

Chmielewski’s 272 votes are enough to get him one of the two council seats, while unofficial results have James B. Wood claiming the second with 230 votes. Woods may be heading for a recount, though, as he topped Katherine Vanover by just two votes. In all, five candidates were in the mix for the two Palmer City Council seats.
