Christine L. Loyer, born May 17, 1947, in Twin Falls, Idaho, left this Earth on Jan. 30, 2016, from complications of liver disease.

Chris was raised and lived in Idaho, where she had her three sons, before moving to Alaska in 1979. In 1981, she met Ken Loyer while working at the local hardware store, and they were married in September, blending their families. She was the bookkeeper for their business and also formerly worked at Colony Kitchen.

As a member of the Palmer Nazarene church, she was very involved, as her faith was of the most importance. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, traveling and she enjoyed sharing their home with many.

Chris is survived by her husband, Ken Loyer; mother, Vee Carrel; sister, Tammy (Monte) Armstrong; sons, Scott (Keri Ann) Gregory, Matthew (Juneen) Gregory and Jeremy Loyer; daughters, Marcie (Dan) Bentti and Kenna Loyer; grandchildren, Kristin (Joe) Ackerland, Collin, Tyler, and Carter Gregory; and great-grandchild, Aubrielle Ackerland. She was preceded in death by her dad, Perry Carrel.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Palmer Church of the Nazarene, with a banquet following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palmer Church of the Nazarene, designated to Faith Promise, at Box 3509, Palmer, AK 99645.
