Longtime Alaska resident, Christine Ann McCarron, 62, passed away on May 9, 2015, at Mat Su Regional Hospital, after a long battle with COPD and chronic pneumonia.
Chris, as she was known to friends, was born in Burlington, Vermont on July 14, 1952, to Guy and Ora Brown. She lived in Vermont near her parents and brother, Kevin Brown, until her early thirties when she moved to Alaska with her son, Matt McCarron. She fell in love with the majesty of Alaska and stayed all her life. After a brief period of living in Anchorage, she wound up calling the Valley her home.
Life in the Mat-Su Valley was like falling in love with Alaska all over again. That is where she met Don Tweter, another longtime Alaskan. They shared a love for nature and the splendor all around them. They discovered through the years they were as close as soul mates could be. As best friends, through thick and thin, they had each other. She was an avid beader and craft person. Her many talents were obvious all around her. She was always trying to help all those around. Her caring and loving happiness will be sorely missed.
Christine is survived by her partner, Don Tweter; son, Matthew McCarron, brother, Kevin Brown; and mother, Ora Brown. She was preceded in death by her father, Guy Brown.
