Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Christopher E. Rogers Sr. died Dec. 2, 2007 at his home. Born in Anchorage on Dec. 17, 1955, Rogers was a Navy veteran and Mat-Su Valley contractor who enjoyed hiking, mountain climbing, glacier rescue skiing, hunting, fishing, mechanics, welding, and much more, including helping his friends.
Rogers is survived by his fiancé, Elann (Lennie) Moren; sons Erin and Jeremy; brothers Burl and Ronny; two grandchildren; and his dog Bear.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 440 E. Elmwood in Palmer. There will be a potluck following the services. Those attending are asked bring pictures and stories to share.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
