On the morning of October 31st, Cindy Lou Ewing ended her 13-year battle with breast cancer. Surrounded by family and friends, she was received into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Cindy was born December 16th, 1958, in Spokane WA. Her family moved to Anchorage in 1969, finally settling in Wasilla in 1973. On her first day of High School, she met another girl new to the Valley, Cathy Miller. This started a forever friendship that only grew stronger over the next 50 years.
It was also at Wasilla High that she met her future husband Shell in 1975.
Cindy was loving, caring and giving. No task was impossible for her, as she always said “where there’s a will there’s a way”. She painted a sign that hangs in her shop, “If at first you don’t succeed, do it like your mom told you to”. Her creativity was amazing, her crafting a perennial ribbon winner at the fair, her yard and flowers always beautiful, and her raspberries always perfect.
Her highest accolades were earned as a loving wife to her husband, a mom to our four children, and a Honee to our five grandchildren. We miss her so much.
Cindy is survived by her husband Shell, their sons and daughters Noah, Jared, Cassi, Katy and Troy. Grand children Gracie and Scott, Christian, Kadin, Cali, and Henry. Brothers and sisters Randy, Julie, Tom, Kathy, Anne, Mark, Donnita and “uncle John”. Nieces and nephews Josh and Shelley, Cameron, Travis and Alyssa, Shyla and Mitchell. Our adopted family Amanda, Alyssa, Teagan, Kallen, Bling, Cooper, and great friends Teri, Larry, Jack, Jerry, Wayne, Robin and Dianna. Cindy loved her family at Sunny Knik Chapel.
She was preceded by her father and mother, Bill and Shiela Bell, and our son, Tiger James Ewing.
Our special thanks to her best friend Cathy Miller Poppert and husband Dave for being with her through the end, for sister Julie and daughter Katy for the excellent care you provided, for Pastor Duane who came and sang to her in her final hours, for all of you who prayed, brought food, visited with her, the calls, texts, cards and flowers, and for Amy, Joan and Bobby. Also, our longtime family friend Brenda Foote!
Please join us as we celebrate her life on December 7th at 2:00PM at Sunny Knik Chapel. Pastor Duane Guisinger officiating. Cindys celebration will be aired via live stream on YouTube. Just search for Sunny Knik Chapel.
We will love you with our soul forever Honee!
