Clarice Dale

Clarice Maude Dale, 83, died Dec. 1, 2007, at the Heritage Place in Soldotna. Formerly of Palmer, Dale was a longtime Kenai resident and grandmother of Wasilla resident Curry Freeman.

Private family services will be held and her ashes will be buried at the Kenai City Cemetery at a later date.

Dale was born Oct. 1, 1924, to Dolfa and Ruby (Olsen) Lobdell in Grenora, N.D.

In 1953, Dale traveled the Alcan with a new husband and baby, settling in Palmer, where her contagious smile and great dinner parties quickly established many friendships.

Dale will be remembered for her generous spirit and that there were no strangers at her table. She was a gifted storyteller who enjoyed her Alaska life — camping, crocheting, gardening, hobby farming, crossword puzzles and especially her grandchildren. Her final years were spent at Heritage Place, where caregivers provided her the same loving affection she freely gave when she was able.
