Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Palmer resident Claude Rema “Corky” Lason, 64, died Nov. 8, 2007, of natural causes at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
Memorial services will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Salvation Army Church in Palmer.
Lason was born March 11, 1943, in Everett, Wash., and worked in the logging industry in Deming, Wash. He came to Alaska in June 1988 and had lived on Afognek Island and in Palmer. His hobbies and interests included hunting and fishing.
Lason was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Lason; mother, Edna Lason; son, Kim Lason; brother, Wallace; and sister, Rose.
Survivors are his wife, Karen A. Lason of Palmer; sons, Bruce W. Lason and Tracy R. Lason of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Jeff L. Lason of Palmer; daughter, April Lason; grandsons, Damian M. Lason, Ty T. Lason and Russell W. Lason; granddaughter, Lindsey Lason; great-grandson, Eugene Lason; and sisters, Donna, Barbara and Bev.
