Longtime Alaskan resident Clement Alvin Lakey, 70, passed away at home on December 20th, 2020. A funeral Mass will be held on December 30th at Sacred Heart Church, Wasilla, at 12pm. The burial will be in the spring.
Alvin came to Alaska in 1978. He worked as a power lineman in the IBEW, traveling around the lower 48 and Alaska for many years. Alvin loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was always willing to give a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. In his retirement, he enjoyed hunting, dip netting and exploring Alaska.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife, Beth; daughter, Theresa DeGuilio; sons Patrick and Sam Lakey; sisters Penny LaChapelle, Betsy LeDoux, Lynanne Carlson; and brothers Lewis Lakey and Rob Quelland. He has eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Quelland; grandson, Dustin Lakey; and brother-in-law, Mark LaChapelle.
His wife Beth has asked that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Alaska in lieu of flowers.
