Longtime Alaska resident Coby Blaine Thompson, 48, died March 11, 2012, in Wasilla.
At Coby’s request, there will be no ceremony.
Coby was born April 10, 1963, to Robert Thompson and Nora Thompson in Albert Lea, Minn.
Coby graduated high school in New Richland, Minn. Shortly after graduation, Coby moved to Wasilla and worked as a landscaper.
Coby enjoyed NASCAR, country music and helping others.
The family wrote, “Coby was a kind and gentle spirit, always eager for approval. He loved animals and playing pranks.”
Preceding him in death was his mother, Nora Thompson; and father, Robert Thompson.
Surviving are his sister and brother in-law, Nancy and Lonnie Breuer of Wasilla; sister, Cheryl Johnson and partner Scott of Waseca, Minn.; brother, Kevin Thompson and his wife Dianne of Faribault, Minn.; brother, Mark Thompson of Soldotna; nieces, Cassie Johnson, and Skye and Joe Ronkin and their two sons; and nephews, Brandon, Peter, Joshua, Travis and Corey.
Valley Funeral Home and Crematory cared for the family.
