Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Daniel “Dan” Eugene Keck, 69, passed away April 13, 2008 at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
Keck was born March 11, 1939 in Naperville, Ill. He moved to Alaska in the 1980s and resided in Palmer until he moved to Anchorage in 2003.
Keck was a truck driver. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and collected Harley stuff and anything Native American. His family states, “Dan loved life. He had a great sense of humor, and he always looked out for his little sisters.”
Dan is survived by his sons Brian, Shane, Kevin and Shilo, all of Illinois; brothers David Keck of California and Ted Keck of Alaska; sisters Bonnie Utt of North Carolina, Rozann Foster of Virginia, and Deb Cordero of Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his brother Lyle Keck, three days prior to his own death, on April 10, and his parents Lyle and Evelyn Keck.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at Kehl’s Palmer Mortuary, 209 S. Alaska Street in Palmer.
