Daniel Olmstead, 57, passed away May 22, 2015, while doing what he loved best: fishing.
He was born on May 26, 1958, in Auburn, Washington, to Donald and Cecil Olmstead. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1977. With his fishing pole in hand, he moved to Alaska in 1980 to live the hunting and fishing dream. He did just that. He went to Beluga in 2002 to chase bears and fish. It was there he met Michelle and they married on Aug. 26, 2004.
On Friday, May 22, while fishing on the Cook Inlet, Daniel died of a heart attack. He was with two of his lifelong buddies doing what he loved.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Michelle; parents, Donald and Cecil Olmstead; brother, Dale; sisters, Cindy Estibal and Cheri Scazighini; children, Tiara Rowe, Alex Hagen, Josh and Robert Yundt; and 11 grandchildren.
A potluck celebration of life is at 2 p.m., May 30,at the VFW Hall, Post 9635 on Lake View Dr., Wasilla.
