Darrell Douglas Dix, 77, passed away at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center on September 15, 2021. He was born in St. Louis City, Missouri on July 23, 1944. Growing up in Minnesota he attended Minnetonka High School. He entered the Army August 1962. He was stationed in Germany and served in Vietnam June 1967 until August 1969. He was discharged in August 1970. He then resided mainly in Minnesota and worked as a truck driver. An Alaska resident since the late 90’s he worked for MinnAlaska Transport. In December of 2005 he began working for Cruz Construction where he worked until May of this year. He always loved hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed halibut fishing. He never met a stranger and was most happy interacting with people, either in person, on the phone, or internet. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Hazel Dix; and daughter, Brandy. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; brother, Gene Dix; sister, Terry Roeser; children, Darrel Dix, Jennifer Dix, Stephanie Miller, Chance and Chase Davis; and 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Memorial service at 12:30 October 1 at Legacy Funeral Home’s Wasilla Heritage Chapel.
