Darren (Vern) Keith Anderson, 44, passed away on February 25, 2025 in Palmer, Alaska, He was born on June 2, 1980, in Fergus Falls, MN, to Brian Anderson and Penny Sanden.
Darren graduated from Fergus Falls High School and later moved to Alaska, where he worked at Signature Flight Support at the Anchorage Airport. He met the love of his life Alycia, and they were married in March of 2010 and moved from Anchorage to Palmer, Alaska. His life changed profoundly with the adoption of his three beautiful children, after which he fully embraced his most cherished role being "Mr. Mom." He took immense pride in raising and caring for his family.
Darren was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He had a special gift for teaching the younger generation, whether it was how to fish, cook, or master the claw machine to their advantage. He was always there when needed, offering guidance, humor, and unwavering support.
Darren is survived by his wife, Alycia; his children, Maxell, Markus, and Hope; his mother, Penny Sanden; his siblings, Heather Anderson, Terri Anderson (Chris), Erik Anderson (Lisa); Tina Wagner, and Tracy Wagner and his nieces and nephews, Viktoria (Brian), Chancellor, Skylar (Aaron), Makayla (Dylan), Bristol, Isabella (Esteban), Kasiana, Emma, and Alaina (David).
He was preceded in death by his father, Brian Anderson; stepmother, Jeepie; and grandparents, Elmer and Yvonne Sanden and Harvey and Ruth Anderson.
A celebration of life will be held on April 6th at 2:00 p.m. at the Palmer Depot, located at 610 S Valley Way, downtown Palmer, AK. It will also be live streamed; contact a family member for information if you want to watch it remotely.
