David Eugene Spry

October 3, 1961 - March 1, 2025

David Eugene Spry (63), Wasilla, AK passed away on 3/1/2025 at Mat-Su Regional Hospital, Wasilla, AK.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of David (Dave) Spry.

He was born on 10/3/1961 in Hot Springs, MT and moved to Skagway AK with his parents in1963. In 1970 he and his family moved to Northway, AK where his parents owned Northway Motel & Garage at Mile 1263 on the Alaska Highway. David then moved with his parents to Wasilla, AK in 1980.

David was passionate about cars and was an amazing mechanic. If it had wheels, he could fix it, build it and drive it. He spent several years in Wasilla as a mechanic and a lot of time at Thunder Valley Raceway. As an extremely accomplished underwater welder he spent several years working off the shores in Angola, Africa in the oil & gas industry.

David later moved to Bend, OR where he was involved with local car clubs and was a member of the CORACA MC. He later moved back to Alaska and lived on his beautiful property in the Mat-Su Valley.

My brother was many things to many people. He was & still is called Brother & Friend by most everyone he met and got to know him. He had a unique sense of humor and would have your back when needed. Easy going and yet Spicy. He was loved and will be missed by so many.

He is survived by his Sister; DeAnna Spry-Johnson. Nieces & Nephews; Candice Frisby, Amanda Frisby-Homme, Zackary Jones, Avery Jones & Balee Dwyer. Great Nieces; Shelby Tanner & Eva Homme.

David is preceded in death by his parents Gene & Sheron Spry.

A "Celebration of Life" will be planned for later this summer.
