Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Valley resident David Allen Hamman, 65, passed away at home on Monday, April 25, 2016 in Wasilla, Alaska.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at family’s home. In August there will be another service held in his hometown in Oregon.
David was born on October 21, 1950 in Portland, Oregon. He went on and received a degree in public water and sanitation. He moved to Wasilla in December of 2006. He then retired in 2012 from Alaska Air Boats. He loved fishing, camping, clam digging, shooting on a pool league, and working on his dream home and land.
David was a loving husband, wonderful father, awesome grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be terribly missed by us all.
David is survived by wife Lisa Hamman of Wasilla; daughters Denise Proulx of Vancouver, WA, Brandy Horner of Etna, CA; sons Corey Hamman of Wasilla, Robert Davis of Wasilla, Mitchell Montreuil of Houston, Alaska; granddaughter Amanda DePaula of Etna, CA; grandson David Connelly of Vancouver, WA; granddaughters Dainna Hamman of St. Helens, OR, Korbyn Horner of Etna, CA; grandson Arylis Montreuil of Houston, Alaska; granddaughters Natalie Hamman of Wasilla, Evelyn Montreuil of Houston, Alaska; and great grandson Benson Depaula of Etna, CA.
He was preceded in death by father James Hamman, mother Stella Hamman, step mother Jean Hamman, and brother Gary Hudson.
Arrangements were under the direction of Valley Funeral Home and Crematory, Wasilla Chapel.
