Former Alaska resident David Eugene Johnstone passed away Aug. 10, 2007. He was 66.
Johnstone was born July 28, 1941, to Floyd and Florence Johnstone.
His work brought him to Alaska, and after 25 years he retired from construction management, moving to Goldendale, Wash., in July 2007.
His work in construction brought him all over the world, including Alaska, Japan, Texas, New Jersey and many other places. He enjoyed traveling and spent time in Brazil, South Africa, Israel, Greece, England, Canada and the states, including Hawaii.
Johnstone’s greatest joy was his family. He was especially grateful for the opportunity to lead both of his parents to a relationship with Christ.
Survivors include his father, Floyd Johnstone of Portland, Ore.; wife JoAnn Johnstone of Goldendale, Wash.; daughters Gwyn Jerman of Anchorage and Hilary Johnstone of The Dalles, Ore.; sons Greg Johnstone of Beaverton, Ore., and Grant Johnstone of Tualatin, Ore.; grandchildren Ethan, Morgan, Bailee, Sawyer, Zane and Rylee; brothers Jerry Johnstone of Christmas Valley, Ore., Jack Johnstone of Sandy, Ore., and Michael Johnstone of Monmouth, Ore.; and sister Barbara of Christmas Valley, Ore..
