David William Ward left this world May 12th, 2025 peacefully at home in Palmer. He was 68 years old. Papa Dave is survived by his wife, three sisters, two adult children and adult step children. He also leaves multiple grandchildren and a great grandchild. In accordance with his wishes, there is no formal remembrance services planned.
Dave was born February 27th, 1957 in a Quonset Hut in Palmer, son to William and Ruth Ward. He was a child of the original Kurtz colonists. Born of pioneer blood, Dave had a true Alaskan's heart from the beginning. He grew into a resilient man and then a father, taking his family often on adventures. He spent many summers camping, boating and fishing all over the 49th State.
Dave loved the people in his life fearlessly and without reservation. He was a dedicated husband and father for many years. He never pretended to know what he didn't, or be someone he wasn't. When life was difficult, he never let trouble stop him- always having light-hearted laughter and words of wisdom close at hand. He will be dearly missed.
