Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Deanna Jean Boswell Eaker, 69, died at home on April 16, 2012.
She was born March 22, 1944, to Calvin Roy Boswell and Coral Curtis Boswell in Provo, Utah. She was the second of four siblings, including older brother Stephen R. Boswell of Pocatello, Idaho, and younger brothers David Boswell of Babenhausen, Germany, and Gary Boswell of Park City, Utah.
She attended Highland High School for three years and graduated from Granite High School in 1962. She married Alan Eaker, and together they had a daughter, Jeri Lyn. In 1970, they moved to Alaska and raised their family there.
In 1994, Deanna moved to Kooskia, Idaho, and spent a year with her daughter, and then returned to Orem, Utah, to care for her parents until their passing.
Deanna was a very talented quilter. She owned her own business, Forget-Me-Not Quilts, where she finished quilts with her long-arm quilt machine. She created hundreds of beautiful quilts of her own as well as finishing quilts for others. She was also an excellent gardener, growing large, beautiful vegetables and berries for her family to enjoy. She was a member of the Valley Quilt Guild in Alaska and the Utah Valley Quilt Guild.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, most recently attending the Sharon Sixth Ward.
Surviving are her daughter, Jeri L. Breshears, of Wasilla; and granddaughters, Mikalyn Rousculp of Alpine, Utah, Justine Frost of Rexburg, Idaho, Cheyenne Breshears of Wasilla, Kaylee Chappel of Wasilla and Delaney Breshears of Wasilla.
A viewing is from 6 to 8 p.m., April 22 at the Walker Sanderson Mortuary in Utah. There will be a second viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., April 23 at the Sharon Stake Center in Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment is at 3 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah. Condolences may be sent to the family at walkersanderson.com.
