Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Debera Ann Soule, 61, died Nov. 21, 2012, from cancer at her home in Wasilla.
A celebration of life is 11 a.m., Nov. 30 at Birch Harbor Baptist Church, Mile 5, Knik-Goose Bay Road, Wasilla. Burial follows at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Offord will officiate.
Debera was born Jan. 14, 1951, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Robert and Katherine Matthews. She became an Alaska resident in 1979.
Debera worked for Bradshaw and Associates in Anchorage and Allied Automotive. She was a member of the Frontier Motorcycle Club.
The family wrote, “She was very active in gardening and motorcycles. She enjoyed making dollhouses and entered them in the Fur Rondy competitions, which she received a grand champion award for. Debora’s baked goods, flowers and dollhouses were entered in the state fair, and she won awards for them as well. Debera was the owner of the Pantry Restaurant in Wasilla and later opened the Great Alaska Chocolate Co.”
Surviving are her husband, Ronald Soule; and Dennis James Bland, Holly Fiskaaen and Clifford Bennett.
Memorial donations may be contributed to Make-A-Wish Alaska.
