Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Deborah Diane Verasammy-Allen, 61, of Wasilla, Alaska, entered into a peaceful rest on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at home with her loving husband and daughter by her side. She was born Jan. 5, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Willie and Orletha Williams. Her life journey led to her living in several cities throughout Michigan, New Jersey and, most recently, Alaska.
Deborah can be remembered most for a longstanding commitment to her extensive family and unwavering faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She experienced professional success as a Micropigmentologist, where she was able to explore an artistic approach to aesthetics and took pride in dignifying others.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Abraham Ezra Allen, of Wasilla, Alaska; son, Kenya S. (Miguel) Williams, of New York; daughters, Lakeisa L. Foster, of Michigan, Priya A. Verasammy, of Palmer, Alaska, and Camille (Kentrell) Washington, of Indiana; granddaughters, Shatavious S. Foster and Alaina Marie Washington.
Additional family includes: brothers, London, Tyrone and Terry Williams; sisters, Campanella (Wade) Johnson and Naomi Hollins, all of Michigan; Allen family in-laws; many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless close acquaintances.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Orletha; father, Willie; brothers, Edgar and Frank; sisters, Wilma, Pauline and Williate; and son-in-law, Judson (Jay).
This is not a goodbye, it’s a see you later!
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 900 E. North Star Circle, Wasilla, AK 99654.
