Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Deborah Leigh Conover, 60 passed away June 13, 2013, at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage.
Services are at noon, June 24 at Rural CAP, 731 E. 8th Ave., Anchorage.
Deborah was born May 20, 1953, in San Clemente, Calif., to Charles R. and Paula (Lukeroth) Caswell.
She grew up in the Bay area, graduating from Ygnacio Valley High in 1971. She attended Mt. Diablo Jr. College in Pleasant Hill, Calif. Deborah has been a resident of Alaska since 1981.
She married Russell D. Conover on April 18, 1988. She was employed with the Catholic Archdiocese from 1986-2000 and since by Rural CAP.
Deborah loved cooking, traveling, relaxing with her family, swimming and working with glass.
“Our Deborah will be dearly missed,” her family wrote. “Her vibrant personality, her unique laugh, her love of all things; cooking brought joy to the lives of those who knew and loved her. Taken from us far too early, Debi will be remembered in the hearts of her friends, family and loved ones as the wonderful grandma, wife, mother and friend that she was! Deborah’s final wish to ‘be everywhere’ has come true”
She is survived by husband, Russell; son, Eric Connick; and daughter, Tiffany Howels, both of Anchorage; and grandchildren, Khenzie, Hunter, Dane and Logan.
