Deborah Marie McMahon passed away peacefully on Friday March 2, 2018 at the age of 62. Deborah was born January 28, 1955 in Seattle, WA to George Frohlich and Bernadette Wolf. Although she lived outside many years, Deborah had a great love for Alaska, and returned to raise her daughters in the Matanuska Valley. She enjoying going camping, catching fish, digging clams, hunting, berry picking, and wild foraging. She taught us the names of all the wildflowers and to catch bugs without fear. She spent hours canning, pickling, smoking, and processing the many harvests. Deborah was always happiest when she could create and do things for others. She loved to celebrate and dance. All holidays were special with her around. Our Mom was a tough but always forgiving person with a free spirit. In her later years, she took great joy in her grandchildren, and loved to show them off. She is survived by her daughters Aurora Dockins of Clam Gulch and Ariel Bulle of Phoenix, Arizona, her brother Tom Frohlich of Anchorage, her sister Crystal Shoup of Wasilla, and her many grandchildren. Her family plans to celebrate her life and scatter her remains in Alaska this August.
